Welcome to the first edition of the Inspiring Women Series! My intention behind this series is for women of all backgrounds and stages of life to share what makes them love their life. My hope is that through this sharing you become inspired to live more of your own dream life that you love. If you are interested in being featured in this series please send me an inquiry at danielle@danielleyeager.com and I will send you more information. I am incredibly excited about this series because I see so many women floating through life not fulling engaged, happy, or loving life. I want everyone to love the life they are living and live to the fullest!

The first inspiring women to be featured is Julia Jones, and here is her story:

Tell us how you are living the life of your dreams?

The other day it occurred to me that I am living my dream. I was thinking that in my ideal life I would walk and meditate every morning. And then I realized I had walked and meditated that very morning!

We live in a small house in a huge block with 6 veggie patches, native trees, the worlds biggest trampoline and our black bunny called Rosie. And I live in my home town, North Fremantle, a beautiful, quiet, creative town nestled between the Swan River and the Indian Ocean. My parents live 2 blocks away and my daughter goes to the school I went to 25 years ago! Last weekend we took a picnic lunch to the river nearby, a special spot where my husband and I got married. We often see dolphins and black swans there and I am always saying to my family that we live in paradise!

My husband and I both work part time and flexible hours so we can spend plenty of time together with our two healthy, happy children. Even school mornings don’t usually feel rushed. I love my work. I help pregnant women make the first six weeks after their baby is born the best weeks of their life. I want all women to find peace and joy in motherhood, because I have experienced it myself and it is pure bliss!  I want to share that gift with the world.

What hurdles came up on your way to getting there?

People telling me it was not possible! I’ve had many other women try and say that it’s not possible to make money as a doula and also that it’s not possible to find peace and joy in the early weeks of mothering. There have been many times when this has shaken my confidence, but in the end I try and use it to motivate me. To prove that what I want to achieve is possible!

What has been the biggest help in living a life of your dreams?

Whenever I waver, my brilliant husband keeps me on track. He believes in me and our dream every step of the way and that is huge part of what has made it possible.

What would you say to someone who feels like their dream life is impossible?

Forget about what life IS and focus on what it CAN be. You can do anything, but not everything. Focus on what’s important for you and go for it.

How are you continuing to build a life of your dreams?

I previously only worked with new mothers face-to-face, as a postnatal doula. Now I am launching an online program so I help mothers all over the world find peace and joy.

  1. Hey Kimberly!

Thanks, my home is a pretty special place and a huge part of who I am. I’ll be doing a photoshoot of my family for a revamp of my website in January, so I’ll keep you posted.

I have to admit my actual physical house is a pretty boring 70’s brick and tile – but the setting truly is paradise.

  2. This is beautiful! I seriously want to see her home because she described it as a fairy tale setting from the Grimms Brothers: it would be so beautiful so photograph! And I never knew you could actually be a doula and live successfully. Definitely looking her up <3
