My love affair with life (AKA why I started my own business)

My love affair with life (AKA why I started my own business)

Life is a crazy journey filled with ups and downs, heartbreaks and breakthroughs, laughter and hard cries, and I have definitely had my fair share. I have been passionate and hard working all of my adult life. Dreaming about the way life could be, how I could spend my time, and who I could help along the way. However, I also worked through severe depression, unhealthy relationships, and anxiety.

Still, I kept my eye on the future; working for something greater always got my juices flowing and kept me feeling sane when the world was falling apart. I was working hard on my master’s and doctorate degree at the same time I fought my way out of a really nasty relationship that had been depleting me for three years. It took me a full year to get past that relationship and into a healthy place. But man, when I got there I felt like a phoenix flying out of the ashes. I rose up and took my life in my hands, not just in some imaginable future, but in the right now.

I started getting healthy in mind, body, and spirit. I decided to get off medication for my auto immune disorder and went into remission. To top it off, I got into a beautiful, healthy relationship that for the first time in a long time added to my life and energy instead of taking it away. I started working in a career I had studied six years to get to and began really helping people who needed it, all while finishing my doctorate.

A couple of years passed, and I was about to finish my doctorate (just waiting on my research to be approved so I could make that final stretch). I had to wait three months for my research to be approved and I had a mini meltdown. It was the first time in my adult life I wasn’t working full time and going to school full time. I had no idea what to do with myself. I stopped and realized I absolutely love being busy, but I didn’t want to be busy for the sake of being busy; I wanted to be making a difference in my life and in the lives of others.

I looked around and I saw so many people who were like how I was, surviving instead of thriving. I felt for them, the undiagnosed people who are living with depression, the heartbroken women trying to save a painful relationship, and the lost ones wondering why they aren’t happy with their life yet, even though they have been following all the rules. So I realized I had a mission. I was ready to re-motivate the world. I was ready to get women fully engaged in life and becoming the best versions of themselves. I was ready to realize their passion and purpose.

So I began to learn as much as I could about business and marketing so I could actually reach these women and make a difference in their lives. That is why I started my business, and that is why I love my life more now than ever before. And that is also why I love you, my soul sister who read this whole story and relates to it.
